Industrial buildings transformed into homes on sale

Working structures such as industrial buildings and workshops are increasingly being converted into fully-functional homes.

Currently there are a range of such properties on the market, converted from factories and a range of storage buildings, the Times reports.

These include a £6.75 million house in north London in a converted nuclear bunker from the Cold War era.

A windmill near Hailsham in East Sussex is also on the market, having been transformed into a three bedroom, grade two listed property after standing derelict for over 70 years.

It retains the central tower of its former function as a mill, although the rest of the property has been redeveloped in a contemporary fashion.
