A plan to build 29 new industrial buildings in Blandford Forum in Dorset got the thumbs up this week.
North Dorset district councillors approved the plans for a site on the eastern outskirts of the town at a meeting this week, the Daily Echo reports.
The council decided that two thirds of the units should be light industrial buildings, offices or workshops while the rest are likely to become storage sheds.
Builders are set to start work on the site early next year.
Local councillor Steve Hitchings told the Daily Echo: "I think we´ve achieved a very good development. The development of a light industrial area has always been in the local plan. This is certainly good news for jobs."
The managing director of the firm developing the project told the newspaper that there is currently high demand for light industrial buildings.
Recently, the Times reported on a number of industrial buildings which have successfully been converted into homes.
