Prince of Wales issues farm buildings warning

His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales has revealed his concern that farm buildings across Britain could soon become derelict relics in a countryside which has been abandoned.
In a speech to launch the Prince's Countryside Fund, prince Charles said that rural life as we currently know it is under threat from a number of different problems, including climate change, sustainable agriculture and worries about food security.
He stated that farms in upland areas are the lifeblood of the country but warned that if they are not given adequate support, the countryside will deteriorate and be left with derelict farm buildings scarring the landscape.
"If we take away the farms and farmers, what would be left? Scrubland and ghost villages. The countryside, so beloved by visitors does not happen by accident," the prince told the audience.
The Daily Post recently reported that Anglesey County Council is desperate for funding to renovate decaying farm buildings on their council farm estate.
