The latest and popular trend for garden sheds owners is to grow their own vegetables according to the editor of Grow Your Own Magazine, Lucy Halsall. She claimed that you don't always need a large plot at an allotment to grow your own fruit and vegetables.
With the way of the world at the moment it also makes good economical sense although the advantages of any work would not realised until next summer. Still well worth considering. Lucy further said that many of the magazine's readers only have small gardens, as this tend to be the trend with modern houses, or even none at all.
In fact since the sixties the trend has been towards smaller gardens and nowadays they are like the proverbial postage stamp. Long gone are the days in the 1930's where most gardens were close to 100ft, you could probably build an house in them now and still have more garden than the modern equivalent.
It's possible that people in Wimbledon in London could plant in hanging baskets or on window sills, even, so not only can people with gardens grow food but even with the smallest space can grow something. Obviously people with large expanses of garden do have an advantage.
In a study by environmental scientists at the University of Copenhagen it discovered that the demand for organic food products is steadily increasing. The attractions is that this is more natural way of growing food and removes the threat of what the various fertilisers used could do to you.
