Before buying a wooden workshop you should do some research to ensure that you receive the best building to suit you. You will find a great a choice and it's easy to be attracted by price alone and can be a bad thing. None of us want to pay more than necessary but it's important that any purchase you make will stand the test of time. Can these cheap wooden workshops do that? very unlikely. These Junior Transverse timber workshops, which are based on the Platinum Supreme and Super workshops, are anything but Junior in specifications.
The qualities on these workshops extend to redwood deal T&G timber throughout the building, they include the superb Onduline roofing for long life, the framing, cladding and floor are all fully pressure treated and the expected protection against rotting is 15 years. Besides that the Onduline is also designed to last for about 15 years protecting against leaking. The sturdy screwed framing is further evidence of quality and with a great eaves height of 1.8m rising to 2.4m on workshops 6ft and over there is stacks of headroom. All of these features ensure the very best for your garden.
Available in a choice of two redwood deal claddings, 12mm or 15mm (finished thickness), a heavy duty 19mm (15mm finish) floors and 16mm (12mm finish) roof covered with Onduline roofing are sure signs of solid construction. Most wooden workshops are made using the cheaper and inferior whitewood but not on these workshops. These are made using the more durable, long lasting redwood deal to ensure the longest life for your new building.
In addition to the great features of the timber used these workshops will come with toughened glass as standard (not cheap horticultural, plastic or acrylic). This toughened glass will give you great peace of mind when your young grandchildren come round. Further enhancing the qualities of these building is the screwed framing throughout.
There is a large range of standard sizes available but if they don't meet your needs than we can supply a size to suit you. Even odd sizes if that's what you need. Again the styles - if they don't meet your needs then just let us know. Want extra doors or windows - no problem, move the door and windows - no problem. Partition - no problem. We always remember that this is your timber workshop so always endevour to meet your needs. Don't be afraid to ask and NEVER settle for second best.
It's always a good idea, where ever possible, to view your potential workshop beforehand ensuring you have an opportunity to inspect at close quarters how good or bad it may be. It's very difficult to judge from a web screen or leaflet how good - or otherwise- it may be so my wary. We try to be different so we have a display site which show examples of the Platinum range of garden workshops so you can see for yourself. It's situated near Guildford in Surrey.
By taking the opportunity to view you can see how good they are and the attention to the details which would not be possible from just looking at a web site. This should give you great peace of mind that you are making the right choice with your new wooden workshop or garden storage building. As far as the web sites with no options to view - the question you should ask is WHY!
As if all the great features of these transverse workshops is not enough we will also assemble your new workshop for you without charge. Now that's got to be good! This will save you a lot of hard work as well as the worry about whether you have built if correctly. Many wooden workshop companies on the web will tell you it's easy (mainly because they don't offer that option) but don't be fooled. By ensuring your new workshop is built correctly is vital for the lastability of it and will ensure that it will be able to throw off everything 'Mother Nature' throws at it. Peace of mind - priceless. But if you don't want to assemble it then we can offer you a discount of the list price for you.
There are many 'shady' companies out there trying to fleece their victims so you need to be wary that you don't get stung. The other side of the coin is that there are a great many garden workshops companies which do offer a good product. How can you tell? Ensure the company you are dealing with has some history and that you can get some feedback from their earlier customers. We at 1st Choice Leisure Buildings, a family firm, have been trading since 1979 (before Maggie Thatcher) in the garden building industry. In 1996 (before Google) we became the first company to offer garden workshops for sale on the web so we are not stuck in the past. Our customers opinions are important to us and you can check out some of their views on the independent FeeFo organisation. By taking a look you should be able to get a view about us as a company. Hopefully this will convince you that the Platinum Transverse Junior Workshop is for you.

How To Choose A Garden Shed Door
It may seem a strange subject – how to choose a garden shed door – but this humble object is vital to your new shed or garden building. If you think about it the shed door is the only part of your garden building which is designed to move, there may be many parts on cheap sheds that move as well but they are not meant to, and so must be made to resist these moving forces for years on end.
In the most basic form the shed door is planks of wood nailed onto a frame. Hinges are attached and then the door is hung on your shed or garden building however you will find the weight of the planks of wood pulling downwards by gravity. This is why it is crucial that the frame has proper bracing designed into it to stop this happening.
There should be a minimum of three ledges, timber batons which are horizontal, and in between them there should be two diagonal braces. The braces help to carry the load of the shed door from the outside of the shed door to the side where the hinges are. - Continue reading --
