Strong Wooden Garden Workshops for Your Home
The Platinum Traditional tradtional shed is designed around hand crafted, traditional tried and tested methods as well as the method of construction. However, these great qualities have been built upon for the 21st century. The addition of vents in the soffits of the roof aids ventilation in the building and the diagonal bracing added means these super strong buildings can withstand everything the weather can throw at it. Add in the superb Onduline roof, with its expected life against leaking for 15 years (yes 15 years), built on top of a superb T&G boarded roof on raised batons ensures the very environment for this traditional shed.
Built In Quality Your Grandfather Would Recognise
Our grandparents knew the meaning of something being made 'right' and took great delight in owning a traditional shed they could be proud of with these type of qualities. The Traditional Garden Workshop would be one they would enthuse about and would reflect the very high standards they would expect. With all the features these garden building offer would ensure this would be the building they would choose. The traditional weatherboard will look great in any garden and the sheer style of these buildings will shine out. Clearly these heavy duty sheds are built to 'look the part' but also to reflect the great qualities of Great Britain. Surely a great choice for your garden.
Do Some Research Before Buying a Garden Shed or Workshop
With the large amount of web sites selling garden shed on the internet you will find it's easy to be dazzled by a flashy website or glossy brochure. The price is often the first thing people think about but the cheapest shed is very rarely the best value. To be able to offer a shed at silly prices then major compromises are made in the quality of material used and the build construction. Often cheap chipboard or similar 'sheet material' is used for the floor and roof and are often delivered for you to make up. Again the timber used will make a great difference to the life of your shed. Be very aware and ask plenty of questions to ensure you know what you are getting. Whilst our garden buildings are more expensive you will find they represent far better value as they will stand the test of time protecting your possessions in the process.
How to Choose a Heavy Duty Shed Company?
With the great number of outlets selling garden workshops as well as garden centres it can be hard to know who to deal with. A great idea is to look at previous customers feedback and you can see 1st Choice Garden Workshops feedback on the Feefo independent site which should give you a good idea about them and their products which are all made from sustainable timber sources. You will see honest assessments of our products and even pointed out some areas which could be improved. This is great for us as this enables us to make any adjustments as required to make our buildings even better.
Quality Designed In As Standard for Today's Environmental Life
You will soon realise that the cheap materials used on the 'bargain bucket' sheds won't last very long. This is why your new garden workshop should be built from top quality timber on a sturdy frame strengthened with corner diagonal bracing. With the superb pressure treated timber cladding, with it's 15 years expected life against rotting, you can be sure these building are the 'bees knees'. Further enhanced, as standard, with a great vapour barrier - membrane your possessions are well protected from the elements. Whatever garden shed or workshop you buy do not buy one which uses chipboard, wafer board, sterling board or OSB board (often described as sheet materials to disguise what you are getting) as these very deteriorate very quickly when these boards get wet. Also try to buy a garden workshop made from redwood deal and not the less resilient, cheap whitewood which often ends up with loads of tiny knot holes falling out. Finally ensure that the garden shed manufacturer follows the correct procedures to minimise the impact on the environment.
Solid Timber Throughout on These Traditional Sheds
To save money most cheap garden shed companies try to save money by using OSB board etc on their garden sheds but it's important that 'proper' timber is used throughout. On these Platinum Traditional apex and pent garden workshops you will enjoy the benefits of a solid weatherboarding backed up with an internal membrane This is vitally important as there are two of the areas, besides the roof, most at risk on a shed. With the superb Onduline roofing built on top of a T&G roof you can rest easy knowing your new building is made to the best standards and will withstand our wonderful British weather.
FREE Installation is Included - Saving you Precious Time for more Interesting Pursuits.
As part of these buildings you will enjoy having your new garden workshop built free of charge. This ensures that it will be built correctly and will protect your warranty on it. This will give you more time to enjoy your garden and home which can be spent doing other enjoyable activities. Many garden shed companies claim it's a doddle to build a shed but you are having to move and handle heavy panels, certainly on the decent buildings, so why take the risk. You will be sure your new garden workshop is built correctly and will stand the test of time. Peace of mind as standard - how good is that?.

The windows on sheds and summer houses rely on the windows to let light in so are crucial to your enjoyment of your new garden building. The way these windows are fixed to the building is also crucial so you need to be aware of the method used. The reason for this is so that you don't end up with leaking windows which can be a nuisance.
There are various ways as to how the windows are secured into place. You will often find that they are 'dry fixed' using timber beading. This is a very good way of keeping your shed or summerhouse dry provided the beading is pushed up tight against the glass. Some building only use small nails or brads to secure the glass in place and this can sometimes leak. Another option is with a mastic or sealant around the outside edge of the glass and the shed wall or even with sealant behind the glass.
When I had my garden shed company, which I started in 1979, we use to use the dry fixing method but this was supplemented with a window ledge with a recess cut for the glass to sit into. The beadings were fixed from inside the shed or summerhouse and pressed tight against the glass. This was also more secure as the beading could not be removed from outside - Continue reading --
