Feedback: I have now bought 2 sheds from this company and they are brilliant. The sheds are well made and strong, and the delivery and erection is prompt and efficient and somehow they squeeze them into a corner which nobody else would even consider, thus making the most of the space. Excellent solid sheds for our house. Well made and robust.
Response: Thanks for your feedback. I’m pleased we were able to make the most of the space in your garden and that your two sheds are being used fully. We always try to help if possible. Regards, Robin

Garden sheds, summer houses and other workshops are often converted into dens or retreats as they are away from the day to day trial and tribulations of life. However, quite often it’s difficult to adapt some sheds as they tend to be stuffed with various items which are kept ‘just in case’. Whilst it is good to hang on to bits and pieces which you may use some day sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind.
With Spring on the horizon now is the time to get down into your shed house and to be brutal, anything which has been in there for more than 2 years is unlikely to be needed. These items should go either to the tip, or onto Recycle.co.uk, where other people or gardeners may be able to make use of them. This is always better that the refuse tip as this helps to save on landfill.
By doing this you are able to create some space to have, maybe, a chair and a little table. This will then give you an opportunity to get away from the house for a few hours and have some ‘me’ time. You will find that this time can take away all sorts of stresses and can improve your mental well being as well. Always a good reason to do this.
Garages also are a good example of outdoor buildings which can be converted for your personal leisure time. Whether the garage is made from timber, concrete or steel does not make any difference however timber garages, similar to these ones from 1st Choice Leisure Buildings, are easier to convert. They are also easier to keep warm and feel more natural in your garden.
A couple in Kent went a little further by buying an old garage, the type which use to do car repairs, and converted it into their family home. Johnna Giles and her husband Bob, who is an architect, have extended the structure and adapted this garage to meet their family requirements over the last 30 years.
The garage was, at first, a three bed roomed house with office space. However, with all the developments it has morphed into a massive size six bedroom house. The beauty of their home now is that it can be turned into two separate houses just by the closing of some internal doors. Perfect for the mother-in-law, I think.
Carriage House, the name given to this converted garage, was bought in an auction in 1977 for just £12,000. Some garden offices today can cost more than that so, clearly, was an amazing bargain
Johnna initially thought her husband Bob had gone mad but the potential was there to see. The cherry in the deal was the actual location which you can not put a price on. Outside of the property the scenery consists of rolling farmland which they shared with their two daughters, who loved it, whilst growing up in the countryside.
With the original cost of the garage and the first renovations, £25,000 was spent during the 1970’s. The cost in doubling the size of the property cost £110,000 in 2003. It’s well established that adding a quality garden tool storage shed or out door garden building will add value to your home but converting a commercial garage into a luxury house is certainly most unusual.
