On a cold, windy day wouldn’t it be good for your concrete garage door to open and allow you to drive straight in out of the rain. Well Lidget concrete garages have an option to do this. Their remote controlled operator allows you to press a button from your car and ‘open sez me’ (or words to that effect) This option also adds to the security as the door will be in the locked position automatically. Bear in mind that with the remote controlled garage door that it’s recommended that you have a side door as well for access. Failing that please specify an internal switch and key operated override.

  • Can I upgrade a standard up-and-over door to an electric version?
Many models offer the option to upgrade to an electric door. This is quite popular when the garage is used frequently or just to make life easier.
  • How much does a new up-and-over door cost in the Guildford area?
A standard door is usually included in the price of the garage, depending on size and style. Branded or electric doors cost more. The best way to get an accurate price is to request a quick local quote, as factors like access and your garage plans can affect the cost.
  • How secure are up-and-over doors on concrete garages, and what locks can I get?
Standard doors have basic locks, but you can add stronger locks or choose a heavier door, such as a Hörmann, for better security. Many people in Guildford upgrade their locks because garages are often close to the driveway or road.
  • What finishes and colours can I get for an up-and-over door?
You can choose from several colours, including white, black, brown, and anthracite grey. There are also different designs, such as ribbed or panelled. Hörmann gives the widest choice if you want something a bit smarter.
  • What size up-and-over door should I get for my concrete garage in Guildford?
Most garages in the Guildford area use a 7ft single door, but wider doors are available if you need more room. The size usually comes down to the width of your garage and what you’re planning to park inside. If you’re unsure, have a chat with 1st Choice when ordering your new Lidget concrete garage.
