We live quite far away; is it really worth visiting our show rooms?
Absolutely! We strongly urge anyone who is looking for a new building – whether it be a new garden shed, summerhouse, workshop, garage or a full garden room – to visit and inspect the quality in advance of committing to anyone.
Whilst we cannot display everything that we can offer we have carefully selected a range of different buildings which allow us to demonstrate almost every feature in one form or another. So, yes, it is absolutely worth visiting.

Any issues getting a Clockhouse cabin into Guildford or Woking gardens?
Only parking, really. Guildford’s not too bad, but Woking can be a nightmare if the road’s tight. As for getting it into the garden, we’ve carried worse. The pieces are long, but they fit through most side passages. If yiu are not sure then we can often arrange a site survey to check.
-
Can I use it as both an office and a guest room in Surrey?
Yeah, loads of people do that. They put a sofa bed in one corner, a desk in another, and that’s that. It’s not meant as a full-time living space, but people do it for a night or two all the time. The Clockhouse shape makes the front room bright, so it actually feels nicer than many spare bedrooms.
-
How do I choose the right orientation in a Surrey garden?
Honestly, we just stand in the garden and look. That’s what works. You want the big glass front pointing somewhere nice — not directly at a fence or the bins. Morning sun is great for offices. If you point it at the strong afternoon sun, it’ll get warm in summer unless you’ve shaded it. We usually move around the garden, have a chat, point at a few spots, and it becomes obvious pretty quickly where it wants to go.
-
How often do I need to maintain it in Surrey?
Give it a
fresh coat of paint every couple of years, keep leaves from piling up under the roof overhang, and check the seals around the big windows now and then. Surrey winters are damp but not brutal — if you look after it a bit, you won’t have any issues. Neglect it and it’ll go grey and patchy, like any timber.
-
What actually is a Clockhouse cabin, and will it look alright in a Guildford Surrey garden?
A Clockhouse is just one of those cabins with the big front, loads of glass, and the little overhang that makes it look a bit fancier. They’re popular because they don’t scream “shed.”
-
What extra costs should I expect around Surrey?
Same stuff as any cabin, really. Base usually £1,000–£3,000-ish, depending on how much levelling is needed. Electrics can be a few hundred to a grand. Paint or stain £300–£500. Insulation varies depending on how warm you want it to be. Nothing dramatic — it’s just a bit bigger than a standard cabin, so obviously, materials go up a bit.
-
What mistakes do people in Guildford make with these?
Biggest one: not leaving space behind it. They shove it right against a fence, then realise they can’t get back there to paint it.
Another one is not thinking about the sun — the big front windows are lovely till they’re facing full afternoon sun and you’re sweating in there.
Also, people forget the cabin has an overhang, so the base needs to be a bit bigger than the footprint.
-
What wall thickness and insulation do I need for year-round use in Surrey?
If you’re using it a lot, go for the thicker stuff - 44mm, 70mm, that sort of thing. It just feels solid. And definitely insulate the roof and floor. People often skip that bit and then ask why it’s cold in December. Once the insulation’s in, even a small heater warms it nicely. The big windows on the front look lovely, but they'll lose heat if you don’t insulate the rest of the house properly.
