If you are looking for an 11×7 shed, the building currently available on this page is the SafeStore Glendale Metal Shed. This is not a lightweight metal garden shed. It is a substantial secure storage building made from 1.2mm galvanised steel and designed for customers who place strength and security high on their list of priorities.
The Glendale is approximately 7½ft wide and is available in several lengths, including an 11ft version, making it the relevant choice if you are searching for an 11ft x 7ft shed or 7×11 shed. As always, I recommend checking the precise dimensions on the product page rather than relying solely on nominal shed sizes, particularly when preparing your base or working within a restricted garden space.
The SafeStore Glendale is constructed from 1.2mm-thick galvanised steel with reinforced doors and door surrounds, double-folded joints and high-security double doors. It also includes a sturdy steel floor base and a drill- and pick-resistant Euro cylinder lock. These features make it a very different proposition from the thin, lightweight metal sheds many people may be familiar with.
The double doors are particularly useful when storing larger garden equipment, bicycles and other bulky items. There is also a choice of colours, and an assembly service is available if you would prefer the building to be erected for you. The Glendale requires a suitable firm, level base, so check the base requirements before ordering and have this prepared in advance.
An 11ft x 7ft shed provides considerably more usable storage than a small garden shed, so it is worth planning the interior before filling it. Think about your largest items first and consider how often you need to reach them. Leaving a sensible route from the double doors through the building can make everyday use much easier than simply filling every available inch of floor space.
Security may also be one of the main reasons you are considering the Glendale. If you have valuable garden machinery, tools or bicycles to store, it makes sense to look at the construction of the complete building rather than concentrating on the lock alone. Reinforced doors, substantial steel panels, and how the building is fixed to its base all contribute to the overall storage solution.
I’m Robin Antill, founder of 1st Choice Leisure Buildings. I left school at 15 and started my own garden building business in 1979, trading as Marina Sheds. Working directly with sheds and customers in those early days gave me practical experience of what makes a garden building worth buying and, just as importantly, what can disappoint a customer after the sale.
I sold Marina Sheds in 1990, although unfortunately I did not receive all the money which was due to me from the sale. I stayed in the garden building industry, and in 1992 we expanded our range to include summerhouses, garages, garden rooms, and log cabins. As we were no longer dealing solely with sheds, that change in direction led to the name Titan Garden Buildings.
My son Craig joined me in 1992 after studying carpentry at Guildford College from 1990. His carpentry training brought additional practical knowledge into the business and marked the beginning of the father-and-son involvement which continues today.
We sold Titan Garden Buildings in 1998 and in 2000 decided that instead of being restricted to our own manufactured products, we would use our accumulated experience to retail quality garden buildings from selected manufacturers. That decision led to the formation of 1st Choice Leisure Buildings. Craig now runs the day-to-day business, and I remain involved to support him and the team as required.
After being involved with sheds and garden buildings since 1979, I have seen plenty of products which look similar in photographs but are very different when you examine how they are made. That is particularly relevant with metal sheds. Steel thickness, doors, joints, flooring, locks and the base can all make a significant difference, which is why I encourage customers to compare specifications rather than choosing purely by price.
You can read more about how our family business developed on our About 1st Choice Leisure Buildings page and more about my background on my Robin Antill author page. My aim after all these years remains straightforward: give customers enough accurate information to make a sensible decision rather than simply telling them that every shed is wonderful.
If you need a 7×11 shed primarily for secure storage, the Glendale deserves a close look. Its heavy-gauge 1.2mm galvanised-steel construction, reinforced double doors, integral steel floor base and security-focused locking system make it particularly suitable where strength and security matter more than the traditional appearance of a timber shed.
Before ordering, check the exact Glendale dimensions, make sure there is adequate access to your chosen position and ensure that you can provide the recommended solid, level base. If you want to compare this size with other possibilities, visit our sheds by size section, or if you specifically want steel construction, you can browse our wider metal sheds range.
If you are unsure whether this 11×7 shed is right for what you intend to store, please ask us. Craig, I, and the team would rather help you establish what you genuinely need before ordering than see you buy a building which is the right nominal size but wrong for its intended use.
