My Advice When Choosing a 20ft x 10ft Log Cabin
After working with timber garden buildings since 1979, my advice for a cabin of this size is to plan the interior before deciding on the building. Compare wall construction, glazing, doors, windows, floor, roof, base requirements, and insulation, and mark out where desks, seating, equipment, and storage will go. With 20ft of length, the position of doors and windows can determine whether the room works as one large space or several informal zones. Things to Check Before Ordering a 20×10 Log Cabin
Check the Exact Dimensions
A 20×10 or 10 x 20 log cabin is a nominal size description, and individual buildings may not measure exactly twenty feet by ten feet. Always work from the external and internal dimensions stated for the particular product when positioning the cabin and preparing its base, and allow appropriate clearance for installation and future maintenance.
Think About Zoning the Interior
The 20ft length gives you opportunities that smaller cabins may not. Rather than treating the building as one empty rectangle, consider whether you want a main work area, seating zone, storage area or space for exercise or hobby equipment.
