If you’re looking for a 14×5 shed, you’re probably trying to maximise storage without sacrificing too much garden width. A 14ft x 5ft shed offers around 70 square feet of floor space, making it an excellent choice for storing garden machinery, bicycles, tools, outdoor furniture and seasonal equipment while fitting neatly along a fence or boundary.

There isn’t a single roof style that’s best for everyone. An apex gives you the traditional central ridge, a pent roof offers a clean modern profile, while a reverse apex changes the orientation. As a result, the main entrance is on the longer elevation. With a 14ft x 5ft shed, that choice can have a bigger impact on usability than many customers expect.
A 14×5 shed is ideal for customers who need length rather than width. Bicycles, lawnmowers, ladders, long-handled garden tools, folding furniture and shelving can all be accommodated comfortably. After working with timber buildings for many years, I’ve learnt that two sheds with identical dimensions can be very different products. The buildings on this page use quality redwood timber, substantial framing, timber floors and roofs and toughened safety glass where glazing is included. Those details matter far more than simply comparing prices.
Free fitting is included on these Diamond buildings within the applicable delivery area, provided suitable access and a correctly prepared level base are available. A well-made shed deserves to be erected properly, because correct installation is just as important as good materials.
I’m Robin Antill, founder of 1st Choice Leisure Buildings. I left school at 15 and started in business in 1979 trading as Marina Sheds. Those early years gave me practical experience of timber buildings, manufacturing and, most importantly, helping customers choose the right shed for their garden.
I sold Marina Sheds in 1990, although unfortunately I didn’t receive all the money that was due from the sale. Rather than leave the industry, I continued building my knowledge and in 1992 expanded into summerhouses, garages, garden rooms and log cabins. As the business had become much broader than sheds alone, we changed the name to Titan Garden Buildings.
My son Craig joined me in 1992 after studying carpentry at Guildford College from 1990. His practical carpentry background strengthened the business enormously and began the father-and-son partnership that still exists today.
We sold Titan Garden Buildings in 1998 and in 2000 decided to retail carefully selected quality garden buildings rather than being tied to products from one manufacturer. That decision created 1st Choice Leisure Buildings. Craig now runs the day-to-day business while I continue supporting him and the team whenever needed.
Having worked with garden buildings since 1979, I’ve seen thousands of sheds and learnt that the right building isn’t automatically the biggest or the most expensive. It’s the one whose construction, layout, and specification genuinely suit how you’ll use it.
If your priority is straightforward storage, the Chichester or Woodgate may be ideal.
