Specifications Of Portsmouth Apex
|Sizes:||All buildings are available in any 6ft or 8ft wide size in any lengths in Apex and Pent styles.|
|Cladding:||Available in T&G Shiplap, with standard thickness being 19mm nominal (15mm finished size which is thicker tham most others). rebated – overlap weatherboard cladding – 23mm – 6mm thickness or 20mm T&G Loglap cladding. (Redwood deal not the cheaper whitewood). Pressure treated. Coach screwed construction. Lined with quality vapour barrier and membrane for further weather integrity.|
|Vertical Framing:||47 x 38mm (2″ x 1½” nominal) as standard. Effectively thicker in corners when erected (about 70 x 45mm.|
|Style:||Apex and six Pent models plus others designs available to suit your needs.|
|Roofs:||16mm (12mm finished thickness) T&G timber. Timber batons run along the roof allowing the Onduline roofing to sit on top-thin. The airflow under the Onduline is great for keeping the roof dry. 15 years expected life without leaking. NO chipboard, plywood, OSB, sterling board or sheet materials as these are unsuitable for outdoor use.|
|Ventilation:||All have vents in the soffits (the underside of the roof eaves) and this allows air to circulate within the building.|
|Floors:||Extra thick 19mm (15mm finished thickness) pressure treated T&G boards set on 47 x 47mm (2×2 nominal) pressure impregnated joists for long life. NO chipboard, plywood, OSB or sterling board as these are unsuitable for outdoor use.|
|Windows:||Georgian windows of which one will open as standard. Toughened glass bedded in clear silicone. Not cheap horticultural, plastic or perspex. Georgian joinery windows as standard.|
|Doors:||High quality heavy duty joinery hung on black butt hinges and fitted with a mortice lock for security. Black antique handle as standard. The door can be hung on left or right hand side (if specified at time of ordering). Size: 5ft 10in x 3ft on all models. Beware of doors with NO bracing.|
|Corner Strips:||Corner strips for extra protection to the end grain of the timber and for a smarter finish.|
|Height Apex:||Internal eaves height 195cm (77in) eaves on all buildings. Ridge height is 2.29m (90in) on sheds up to 6ft (1.8m) wide or 2.33m (92in) on 8ft (2.4m) buildings. Option for extra height if required. Crucially all standard height buildings are less than 2.5m complying with permitted development rights.|
|Treatment:||All are fully pressure treated against rot and for long life. 15 years expected life against rot. Although the timber is protected against rotting it’s important that you apply a coat of waterproof treatment within 3 months of delivery to ensure the fullest life for your new building.|
|Nails:||These are all rust resistant to ensure long lasting good appearance to your workshop. NO staples are used as these are not suitable for a quality building.|
|Fitting:||All are erected FREE of charge in our green delivery areas, provided you provide a solid level concrete or paving slab base or timber decked area, or possibly could be built on your timber bearers. Optionally, we have an option for building a timber raft for you. This garden sheds is secured using coach screws for ease of taking it down again if you decide to move.|
|Delivery:||There is no charge for delivery within Platinum standard delivery area but they can be delivered in most of England or Wales, outside of the free delivery area, for a surcharge.|
|Alterations:||Any size garden shed or timber building made with extra doors, windows or partitions. If not sure please contact us for your personal quote|
|Optional Extras:||Double or wider doors, georgian doors, extra windows, georgian windows, extra height, partitions, laminated – wired glass etc – please ask.|
|Sizes:||Unless specified as finished size then sizes quoted are before machining which reduces the size quoted by about 3mm. BEWARE. Many garden shed manufacturers quote BEFORE machining sizes making them APPEAR larger – don’t be fooled.
