Is a 20×13 shed exactly 6m x 4m?
No. Its nominal sides measure 6.096m and 3.9624m. A rectangular 20×13 footprint covers 260 square feet, approximately 24.15 square metres. Check actual external dimensions, roof overhang, internal space and required clearances. A nominal footprint alone cannot confirm whether the building fits a restricted site.
Can I combine storage and workshop space?
A building around this size can suit a workshop with separate equipment storage if the bench, machinery and working clearances fit. Use the length to separate a working area from seasonal storage, and consider whether an entrance along the longer side would improve access to both ends. Plan your workbench, cupboards and larger equipment before choosing the doors and windows. Which roof and entrance layout should I choose?
An apex roof has two slopes meeting at a ridge; a pent roof slopes in one direction. A reverse apex changes the pitched-roof orientation. Use the model’s drawing to check entrance position, height and drainage direction. Plan shelves and bulky equipment around doors and windows, and compare the timber, framing, floor, and roof specifications before choosing.

Free assembly is included on all our wooden sheds. Have a suitable prepared base and adequate access ready for installation. Confirm delivery coverage and any location or access restrictions before ordering.
What base size should I prepare?
Obtain the exact base requirements for the selected building before starting work. Do not assume that an exact 6m x 4m base matches a nominal 20×13 shed; check the supplied dimensions. The foundation must be firm, flat and level, with the required clearance around the building for installation and maintenance.

What access should I check?
Measure gateways, passages and tight corners along the route from the delivery point to the base. Tell the team about steps, slopes, and low overhead clearance so they can assess the route for the building’s panels.
