Don’t be misled by other companies quoting 10 days delivery, 15 days delivery, 20 days delivery etc. When days are mentioned in deliveries they usually relate to ‘working days’. This means 10 days = two weeks, 15 days = three weeks and 20 days – four weeks not quite the same as you might have expected.
FAQs for SafeStore Metal Sheds
-
Are these SafeStore sheds fire proof?
No, SafeStore sheds are not fire-rated. While they are constructed from metal, this does not provide official fireproof certification. A metal construction means they can’t easily be ignited and will last longer than wooden sheds in the event of a fire. However, SafeStore sheds are not officially fire-rated in any way.
-
Do SafeStore metal sheds suffer from condensation?A metal shed can be prone to dampness and condensation without proper planning. SafeStore metal garden sheds include a roof ventilation system that reduces condensation, keeping your equipment dry and safe. If the shed base is not built correctly, a damp base will likely cause condensation, so always ensure the concrete or slab base is slightly larger than the shed. The edges of the base should be smoothed and angled downward to prevent water seepage. Also, make sure there are no plants or bushes near the shed, as they can allow moisture to enter.
-
Is it possible to install my SafeStore shed directly on my lawn?SafeStore sheds are among the heaviest and most secure available. Placing a shed directly on your lawn may cause it to sink over time, and can make the doors difficult to open if the shed is not level. Recommended metal shed base sizes are listed at the bottom of each product page. For guidance on building a suitable shed base, please call us as we may be able to help..
-
What is LCPB?The Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) specialises in testing the security features of products. Several of our metal sheds have been tested and certified to Level 1, and many are built to meet this standard. Please note that some companies may claim to hold this certification without proper documentation. We recommend requesting certification for each product. For more information about SafeStore Secure Steel Sheds LPCB ratings, please contact us.
-
What is the steel thickness used, and does it make a difference?Safestore metal sheds use heavy-gauge galvanised steel, which is a higher grade than competitors offer. This construction makes the shed exceptionally strong, durable, and resistant to weather and theft.
-
What size metal shed do I need for my garden?Does your garden building fit your available space? In our experience, storage in a garden shed is always fully utilised. Have you considered choosing the largest shed that fits comfortably within your area and budget? SafeStore offers a wide range of sizes—what are your specific storage needs? If you are replacing an existing shed, do you want to keep the same size or go bigger? How often will you use the shed? Do you need easy access, single or double doors, or ramp access?
-
Why do you provide a base size, and what does it represent? We recommend installing our sheds on a 50mm concrete or similar solid base. A level, flat surface ensures proper door function and simplifies assembly. Please avoid placing sheds on grass or soil, as the weight of our metal sheds may cause them to sink into the ground. Shed base size information is available at the bottom of each product page.
-
Why is the delivery time so long? All metal sheds are designed and manufactured in-house, and the trained installation crews manage delivery and installation (installation is an optional extra). Although this process may take a bit longer, it ensures your product arrives complete and fully functional. Each product is visually inspected before dispatch and again upon delivery to confirm it is in excellent condition.
