These Trentan 'Guildford' garden log cabins with their modern looks and featuring glazed bi-fold doors and round fixed window are great looking buildings It also provides a degree of shelter from the sun and rain with its front roof overhang and veranda whilst you enjoy this lovely building.
When buying a log cabin the best advice is to visit a display site so you can examples for yourself. Only by doing this can you be sure you are not buying a 'dud'. |Size:||The Guildford log cabin is 6m x 4m plus 1.3m balcony (20ft x 17¾ft nominal overall size). Pent, sloping roof style. Note this is the external size of the cabin. The lugs extend on each corner making the overall size 6.6m x 5.6m (as most other log cabin companies quote the large size making their buildings seem larger). We mention this so you know you are comparing 'eggs with eggs'.|
|Cladding:||The log profile has designed wind-tight connections to ensure a superior resistance against wind. This is 70mm thick standard interlocking logs and cut from a top grade of Nordic Timber and this ensures the maximum stability and longevity of the timber. Untreated. Nordic timber from sustainable sources which has been kiln dried. Naturally this costs significantly more but we will not cut costs in this area and risk the quality of your building in search of a quick profit.|
|Floors:||The log cabin floors are 18mm thick T&G untreated boards. No chipboard, OSB or other cheap sheet materials used on the floor, unlike some other log cabin UK suppliers. The sturdy 70x45mm floor joists are normally spaced no more than 650mm apart. All floor joists are pressure treated for long life as standard.|
|Roofs:||18mm thick T&G boards used on the roof sections supported by strong roof beams. Roof beams meet EN 388 stringent standards. Untreated. Roofing felt included as standard with option for EPDM felting system. 300mm (approx 12in) overhang on sides and rear. On the front there is 130cm (51in) roof overhang.|
|Doors:||Joinery quality double glazed contemporary style BI-FOLD double doors 2600mm wide x 2000mm high (102in x 78½in) - approx sizes. Easy adjust hinges complete with gasket seals, fitted silver finish door handles, cylinder lock and two unique keys. Low doors sills giving you easier access into your log cabin. Supplied untreated. Beware of doors with single glazing or excessively high door sills.|
|Windows:||Delightful looking round fixed window on front of cabin. Supplied untreated as standard.|
|Lower Walls:||Height: 224.4cm (88in) - on these Guildford log buildings.|
|Ridge Height:||Planning friendly height of 244.8cm (96in) - on all Guildford garden cabins. Importantly below 2.5m meaning these log cabins can be built next to your boundary, subject to any other planning restrictions you may have)|
|Storm Protection||Provided as standard are either 'Wood Storm Protectors' or threaded rods. This helps to ensure that the wall planks on your log cabin will remain tight together depending on the weather.|
|Fixings:||All log buildings required fixings (screws, nails etc) are included.|
|Treatment:||All cabins are supplied untreated.|
|Installation:||Buildings are supplied in kit form for self erection. Option for assembly through a third party if required. If being built you would require a concrete base or solid and level paving slab base. Optionally, we have an option for building a timber subframe for you in some areas. These wood cabins are assembled by interlocking the panels for ease of taking it down again if you decide to move.|
|Delivery:||All log cabins are delivered and HIABed off the lorry for you free of charge throughout central & Southern England. Deliveries to Scotland would cost £150 extra. Deliveries to Cornwall & Devon, South & West Wales and Northern England would cost an extra £60.|
|Insulation||Optional insulation to the roof supply only and would consist of Reinforced Thermo Reflective and Vapour Control Layer (special silver quilted membrane), Thermo Reflective Aluminium Tape (used to seal all joints in the roof insulation and over the floor joists), Insulation Board - a Celotex Foil 2 sides rigid insulation board - 25mm thick measuring 2400 x 1200mm. 11mm thick solid sheet boarding (OSB) measuring 2440 x 1220mm or 2400 x 1200mm and all screws and fixings.|
