The deliberate choice of Nordic slow growing timber is because its qualities means it can face all what the UK weather throws at it with ease. The Swedish have know about these qualities for generations and it's only now that we are just starting to catch up. The denseness of the Nordic timber gives it the stability in all types of weather. And the overall design ensures these log cabins has all the timber working together making the building even stronger.
Nordic timber is the order of the day in this respect and although log cabins can be made cheaper with inferior materials and maybe save a few pounds it's better to make them with the correct timber for the job in the first place. The relatively small difference in cost is worth every penny as you will find that the best value log cabin is not always the cheapest one. The policy of making log cabins down to a price restricts those cheap log cabin makers from manufacturing soundly built and long lasting buildings. So, if possible, always try to buy the best you can as it will pay dividends in years to come. The 'Walton' has features such as double glazing throughout and storm proof doors and windows and with these as standard you will be thankful you did choose this option.

A little like the 'The Emperor's New Clothes' so be very wary (fairy tales are not always good).
