Have A Plan For Your Woodpro Log Cabin And Garden
The garden is a key feature of most homes and is a great asset to the mental well being of the residents. It’s develops over time with the addition of garden buildings such sheds and summer buildings. Or maybe a wooden garden workshop. All these buildings are well loved items to their owners. Besides that the garden evolves to be what ever you want it to be.
So the question is how does YOUR garden grow. Do you have a garden plan or is it just a haphazard collection of plants and objects. A lot of people garden this way they see something they like and then when they get it home they look for a bit of a free spot to plant it and that is where it goes. This is not necessarily a bad thing although a more organised approach may make the garden a bit more presentable and easier to enjoy. I am not by any means though talking about a strictly formal garden.
A garden should be organised to some extent that does not mean it can be unique or eclectic it means that you should try to plant things together that have similar requirements for light and moisture. Cactus and water lilies do not grow well together. A shade loving perennial may look nice to a full sun loving annual but the sun loving annual will quickly fade in the shade next to the perennial, and the same holds true for the perennial. A little planning in your plantings can save a lot of time and work latter not to mention money.
When purchasing plants be sure to consider their mature size a six foot wide shrub will quickly out grow a two foot wide space. The same with height if you are planting flowers the reach twelve inches don’t put flowers that grow to thirty inches in front of them you will not be able to enjoy the smaller flowers. I know you are thinking well that seems like common sense but you do not know how many times I have heard I did not realise it was going to get so big. A little research and planning would go a long way.
Another thing to think about with your planning or lack there of in your garden is maintenance. When you find a tree you want and take it home did your think about the maintenance this tree may cause. Will the tree have seed pods or fruits that will drop to the ground and need to be cleaned up. What kind of root system does the tree have will it spread surface roots to disrupt the lawn. Will you have roots headed for your sewer lines to quickly cause expensive repairs.
What about some of those flowering shrubs you want to plant next to the patio. Do they draw large amounts of bees and wasps that could sting you while you or a guest are sitting on the patio. Again something I have heard a lot.
All questions you need to give some consideration to, ideally, before buying anything. So why not take a little time and, if you have a summerhouse or garden building, plan what you would like and how you would go about it. There is no better place to do this than actually our in the garden,
Having said that I think an unplanned garden is good but a much better garden would be a planned unplanned garden (if that doesn’t sound to daft). This will help you to enjoy your new garden cabin in a relaxed way.
