Highlight of the Warwick Art Prize is a garden shed painting

Garden sheds have traditionally been used for a variety of purposes - from storing garden tools to being hideaway workshops.

But one gardener has gone a step further by turning her trusty shed into a work of art as part of her entry for the Warwick Art Prize in Queensland, Australia.

Shortcut to Diamond garden Sheds Carly Scoufos was so inspired by her shed that she painted The Accumulation of Time, which features a number of objects it has collected over the years, the Warwick Daily News reports.

Speaking to the newspaper, Warwick Art Gallery director Karina Devine said the painting was generating a lot of interest because people could relate to their own garden sheds

"It is realistic, however, itīs not just a traditional scene, it has been the highlight of the Warwick Art Prize," she commented.

Ms Scoufosīs piece is acrylic on canvas and won the Hanging Team Choice award from a pool of 130 entries.

Other popular artistic themes for a garden shed include making it look like a miniature cottage, attaching a weather vane or installing a wooden or castle-style cupola to a garden shed roof.
