A proposal to build new industrial buildings and homes at a site in Yeovil are to go under the microscope at a council planning meeting.
The plans for the Highfield Road area will be examined by the town council´s planning committee, the Yeovil Express reported today (November 9th).
Senyah Ltd, which submitted the planning application, wants to demolish a former day care centre for the disabled, which now lies closed, and some existing commercial structures to make way for the new industrial buildings and homes.
The committee is seeking assurances that access alterations at the new site will not cause disruption or too much extra traffic.
Following the town council´s meeting, feedback will be given to South Somerset district council who will make the final decision on the building proposal shortly.
Last week, the Times reported on a number of disused industrial buildings across the country being converted into modern, functional homes.
