A summerhouse is one of the features of a new playground for youngsters attending a Scarborough playgroup.
North Yorkshire County Council awarded Hackness playgroup a £5,000 grant to improve its facilities, the Scarborough Evening News reports.
As well as the addition of a new summerhouse, the playgroup has had a new veranda built in order to improve its garden´s surroundings.
"The summerhouse is used for storing equipment but it also forms a nice play area for the children and gives shelter when it´s raining," supervisor Janet Tildsley told the newspaper.
Ms Tildsley went on to say that the new play area is "very attractive for the children", who are now able to be more adventurous during play time.
Elsewhere, the Daily Telegraph reports that garden designer Philip Nixon has found a niche in "cool, contemporary town gardens", with his latest creation in west London featuring an impressive summerhouse.
Made from honey-toned iroko hardwood, the building contains a fireplace and a large dining area.
