From garden shed to art gallery

Art produced in a Kingston garden shed is to be showcased at the Hop Gallery in Lewes.

The Sussex Express reports that work by artist Denee Holloway will be featured in an upcoming exhibition at the gallery, beginning February 20th.

Ms Holloway's work includes reliefs using a combination of plaster, oil, paint and found objects, the newspaper reports.

"Blue moons, harvest moons and the sun shine in many of her paintings, shedding new light on a familiar Sussex landscape," it adds.

Ms Holloway works from her garden shed, as she claims it provides a vantage point for capturing the "ever changing light on the hills".

The Hop Gallery, originally called the Star Gallery, showcases work from local, national and international artists.

It is regarded as one of the most prestigious visual arts venues in Sussex, with exhibitions focusing on traditional and contemporary art, as well as sculpture and installations.
