✅ Spray impregnated doors & windows:
Spray-impregnation is a treatment to protect windows and doors against the fungi and rotting process. This treatment will take care that all parts are protected, that can’t be reached after installation. You can choose between a colourless spray-impregnation or one of Lugarde’s four translucent colours. For optimal protection we advise you to stain the windows and doors within one year. Attention If you choose the paint treatment for your windows and doors it is not necessary to choose the spray-impregnation. During staining a pre-treatment is included. Because Lugarde check EVERY order, this will be checked accurately in advance.
✅ Painted doors & windows:
Would you like to paint as less as possible? Then choose a factory-treatment for your window and doors. Because you want to enjoy your log cabin as long as possible, we will protect your windows and doors against weather influences. This is done by treating them twice with a spray-treatment as a pre-treatment and then by painting in the colour of your choice. With these three layers the windows and doors are protected against the ‘great outdoors’. They will use the Dutch quality brand Sigma paint. Attention If you choose the paint treatment for your windows and doors it is not necessary to choose the spray-impregnation. During staining a pre-treatment of spray-impregnation is included. Because Lugarde check EVERY order, this will be checked accurately in advance.
✅ Spray treatment of entire building:
Spray Treated Walls.
The entire building is treated including the parts that can’t be reached after assembly.
Your log cabin will be protected against the fungi and rotting process from day one.
You can choose from four translucent colours.
You will still need to treat the outside of your cabin within one year to protect it against any weather influences.
The Garden is Greener When You Put Down a New Lawn
The garden is usually dominated by the lawn and acts as canvas onto which all other aspects of the garden are placed. Besides the garden borders with his colourful flowers and shrubs there is the issue of storage in the garden and this is where your shed or summer house plays its part. Usually tucked away at the end of the garden and usually with a footpath down to it as this save walking on the grass.
As times goes on the layout of the garden may change and the shed and other features are re laid out and this often means that the lawn may need adding to or need to be reeled. As this can be hard work it’s important to think ahead to ensure that any changes you make won’t need doing again in the foreseeable future. Autumn is the best time of doing this as the days are still warm and there is plenty of moisture about. You also are unlikely to be using your summer building through the cooler months
There are two main ways of dealing with this – three if you get a contractor in – and that is by preparing the ground and seeding it and the other is to buy turfs and lay then down. Both have their merits and downsides. With seeds they are very cheap, so this is good on the pocket, but the downside is that they need a lot of watching to ensue birds don’t eat the seeds. They also take a long time to grow and to become established.
Buying turfs have the positives that when laid will display a finished look and after only a few weeks are ready to be cut and possibly to be used. However, ideally, you should wait a few months before walking on the grass. The downside is that the turfs can be heavy to move around, they need to be laid ASAP after delivery and are more expensive. Having said that I think the cost of turfs are quite reasonable if you buy them from the grower rather than from one of the big ‘sheds’ such as Wickes, B&Q or Homebase. Although some of these stores could be likened to a summer house as both provide enjoyment – at least for many people.
In both instances, as with most things, preparation is king. But the good thing is that most of the tools required can be found in most garden sheds and these include a spade, fork and rake. Using these try to get the ground as level as possible and remove all weeds as you go. When you have done this you can use your rake on the top of the soil and make a fine tilth I recommend raking one way in the garden and then in the opposite direction. When you have done this ensure that the ground is level. This will help the seeds or turf to bed down into the garden.
