✅ Spray impregnated doors & windows:
Spray-impregnation is a treatment to protect windows and doors against the fungi and rotting process. This treatment will take care that all parts are protected, that can’t be reached after installation. You can choose between a colourless spray-impregnation or one of Lugarde’s four translucent colours. For optimal protection we advise you to stain the windows and doors within one year. Attention If you choose the paint treatment for your windows and doors it is not necessary to choose the spray-impregnation. During staining a pre-treatment is included. Because Lugarde check EVERY order, this will be checked accurately in advance.
✅ Painted doors & windows:
Would you like to paint as less as possible? Then choose a factory-treatment for your window and doors. Because you want to enjoy your log cabin as long as possible, we will protect your windows and doors against weather influences. This is done by treating them twice with a spray-treatment as a pre-treatment and then by painting in the colour of your choice. With these three layers the windows and doors are protected against the ‘great outdoors’. They will use the Dutch quality brand Sigma paint. Attention If you choose the paint treatment for your windows and doors it is not necessary to choose the spray-impregnation. During staining a pre-treatment of spray-impregnation is included. Because Lugarde check EVERY order, this will be checked accurately in advance.
✅ Spray treatment of entire building:
Spray Treated Walls.
The entire building is treated including the parts that can’t be reached after assembly.
Your log cabin will be protected against the fungi and rotting process from day one.
You can choose from four translucent colours.
You will still need to treat the outside of your cabin within one year to protect it against any weather influences.
Rocking Good Way – the Order of the Day in a Summer House
With the cost of offices or workshops being so expensive other avenues are being looked at in a bid to reduce costs. This is where the garden shed or summerhouse is being looked at as an economical option. This makes good sense as there is no rent to pay and can be utilised relatively quickly.
However, you may need to clear the shed out to make room or ideally take a look at what is available at a nearby garden buildings display site such as these near Guildford or Farnham. This will help you decide whether a purpose built garden shed or summerhouse will be better. This is the best option to go for if your existing shed is ‘choc o block’ as you will have a clear space to work in.
Even allowing for the cost in buying the building you will find the ‘no rent’ part of the equation a great help in your business. You will also find that you are able to claim for capital allowances in relation to the cost of these garden buildings and this will help make it more viable. This has got to be a good thing where the tax man is helping your business.
Considerations to take into account is how to keep the building warm in the winter and cool in the summer (this is not often thought about). You really need to line and insulate (I always think it should be insulate and line) your new summerhouse as this will help in these respects. The Platinum garden buildings and Lugarde buildings can be insulated for you.
What type of windows. If the building is to be used as a store then you might not need opening windows, or windows at all. A workshop or office will need windows otherwise the building will get quite hot in the summer. With an opening window you can get a flow of air which will feel quite pleasant and relaxing. Also consider the width of the door. If you are storing large items then double doors or possibly a 3ft wide door will be a good choice.
The array of businesses using sheds or the like in this way is great and is a great boon to the economy of the UK. Whether you are setting up an Internet web site, a craft shop making different types of handicrafts or using it as a store for items which you may be delivered you will find the answer is the shed.
One of the more unusual activities occurring in a summer building a the making of rocking horses which to me bring back memories from the 50’s and 60’s. A man, from Hale, near Liverpool converted his into a workshop to give him the space to make rocking horses. Using reclaimed timber, so environmentally friendly as well, he converts it into rocking horses as well as rocking chairs.
Great granddad and retired mechanic, Chris Farrington, makes the most of the shelter provided by his shed to make these wonderful creations which he donates to raise money for several charities. St John’s Church in Brooklands, Sale is just one of the beneficiaries.
He gained his woodworking skills at Altrincham College of Arts woodworking group. He said that this great hobby keeps him busy, out of the house and in the summer house during which time he spends making various items as well as experimenting.
Clearly these garden buildings are wonderful additions to any home and whether it’s used for work or pleasure you can be sure it will meet its obligations with no problems at all. .
