Give Some Thought Before Treating Your New Painted Shed
When buying a garden building, you may think it’s very straight forward. Open up a browser on your computer and type in the size you need and then look for the lowest price. Seems easy? But, unfortunately, it’s not if you want the best value building to meet your needs.
There are many different grades of structures available, a bit like all the other cars available. All will do a job, but they won’t all do everything, so you need to decide what is important to you.
If you want the very cheapest storage building then look just on price but if you want it to last then research what it is made from. What type of timber, how tall is it, does it include a proper floor, toughened glass and free assembly as not everybody wants to struggle to build a large building. One of the questions is what type of treatment to go for. Usually, a standard treatment will do the job, but more people are looking for a little more colour and are considering pre-painted sheds.
Although more expensive than plain treatment, many people see this as an investment in their garden and to their well being. The bright colours cheering up the dark days of winter so is well worth thinking about.
All our painted sheds available in more or less in any size to suit you. All of these include free assembly saving you loads of money and making life just a little easier. They can be made bespoke to suit your needs in a range of styles, sizes and finishes. So could you pop in to see us or give us a call? We will be happy to advise you on the options available to you.
All wooden building have toughened glass as standard for safety and feature good height, strong doors and are complete with ‘proper’ timber roofs (no chipboard or OSB boards used).
Before buying a pre-painted shed, try to find the time to see it before going ahead. That way you can be sure it will meet your expectations and won’t be an expensive flop. Don’t regret not doing so.
By taking a little time and writing down what is important to you and how long you are hoping the building to last, you will then be able to shortlist suitable models. And the best bit of advice is to visit a show site and see examples of buildings so you can make your judgement as to how good they are – or NOT.

- Valtti Colour – a translucent stain. We don’t display these as yet but will add a couple next year. £12 per linear ft
- Valtti Opaque – a full paint finish. We have a number of these on each site. We also add a VPL vapour barrier to these. £16 per linear ft.

Time To Paint London? – The Green Garden City
London is a thriving cosmopolitan city where many cultures and races live together, which helps to make London special. Essential to the happiness of the residents is the garden and the garden areas throughout the city and London excels in that. It’s one of the greenest capitals in the world, which some people would be amazed at, but there are over 3000 garden parks and open space within the city.
Every day Londoners, even with their limited gardens try to make the best use of their own little space, creating gardens to suit their needs and, although constructing large sheds is tricky, the garden can still be used as much as the house. In this area, they are no different to their country cousins – they make the best of what they have got. Quite often there will only be a little space alongside the house and a fence and this when a Shoreham thin narrow garden shed will be very useful. Utilising this wasted and generally unused area this new shed can take all manners of garden bits and pieces.
Maybe this is one of the reasons why painted sheds are popular. With the small area available, every part of the garden has to play its role to make it appealing and an asset to the garden. That little ray of colour can brighten even the darkest day.
When the weather is right, the barbecue will come out of the garden shed along with the garden furniture and social activities take place with friends and neighbours. Discussions about the price of property, nowadays consoling each other with the fall in property prices, through to talking about the gardens and all aspects of it.
The design of London gardens is vital to making London outstanding and Philip Nixon, the garden designer, recently created a contemporary city garden in Kensington and Chelsea on an area which was a former electricity substation. This garden design included a stream enclosed with black granite, had unique walls so the garden could be bathed in light at night and a fireplace which created a feel of outdoor living and being of back to nature.
He would be the man to go to if you are looking for painted shed ideas. He can see the whole canvas and how the colours should work within the garden. But this doesn’t mean you can’t make your mind up with your own painted shed ideas.
Mr Nixon, who had previously worked in the city, began his career volunteering at Chelsea Physic Garden. He followed that up by studying garden design at the renowned London’s Inchbald School of Design. As his career progressed, he has won several prestigious gold medals at the world-famous Chelsea Flower Show, a marvellous accolade.
His garden featured large spaces for plants as well as three pools which were linked by a stream along with an extensive range of brightly coloured plants. Water is always a feature which most gardeners would like in their garden as this gives a tranquil feeling even in a busy city. Besides these features, he included a summer house built out of hardwood to create a living space for relaxing in the garden. This is something a painted shed could not do, even though they have loads of virtues.
Nixon went on to say that he hoped that his garden design would draw even more people outside as many people are not attracted outside but show it off from inside their home, which is a shame. Philip Nixon’s garden designs studio has been involved in many locations across the South East, and London and these projects included hotels, public spaces and gardens for shows across the area.
